After leading 71-60 going into the fourth quarter, Kyle Lowry and the Toronto Raptors come storming back and eventually defeat the Atlanta Hawks at the end of regulation by a score of 86-96.
Both the Hawks and Raptors were coming off of losses the game before.
"The sun came up yesterday morning," Raptors head coach Dwane Casey said of the loss to the Thunder before the game. "It was one of those tough games. If you told me at the beginning of the year that we were going to beat OKC at OKC and take them to double overtime here at home, I'd take that and run with it. Our guys are playing. I'm proud of the way that they're playing. They're playing hard. They're competing with the top teams in the league. We're still playing with our identity, which is defence, hard play, sharing the ball, moving the ball."
Due to back spasms, Hawks three-point shooting specialist has missed his second straight game. Most recently was today's matchup north of the border against the Toronto Raptors.
Shelvin Mack and Lou Williams have been playing in Korver's spot since his injury.
"I'm a professional athlete and you got to stay ready," said Mack on starting in place of Korver. "You never know when your name is going to be called. Just try to come out and play hard."
Cartier Martin and Mike Muscala both joined Korver on the bench in street clothes as they also missed action.
DeMarre Carroll had the performance of the game for the Hawks tallying 17 points, five steals and four rebounds. Also staging good play were Paul Millsap, who posted 17 points, eight rebounds and three steals and Jeff Teague, who racked up 16 points, five assists, one steal and a blocked shot.
The others scorers for the Hawks were: Mike Scott (8), Shelvin Mack (7), Elton Brand (7), Dennis Schroder (6), Pero Antic (4) and Lou Williams (4).
Scoring seven of his 25 points in the final minute did Raptors guard Kyle Lowry. Demar Derozan, Jonas Valanciunas, Greivis Vasquez and Terrance Ross all put double figures along with their young point guard.
