After a disappointing season, the Georgia Bulldogs are on to the next. They held their 4th spring football practice on Tuesday, although it was their first in full pads in weather that could have fooled them into thinking they were mid-way, or at the end of their season which has yet to start.
"It was cold and windy, I'll say that, but we really had a good day," coach Mark Richt said in his post-practice news conference. "It was very, very spirited. I think we're making a lot of progress. Guys are running to the ball on defense, and I think we're doing a good job offensively, too."
"I see a bunch of guys working really hard and a bunch of coaches coaching really hard. It's been a pleasure to watch so far."
The upcoming college football season will officially start for the Bulldogs on August 30 against the Clemson Tigers, but before that they will hold their annual G-Day Spring Game on April 12.
Mark Richt told media on Tuesday that the wind affected every available quarterback's throws.
"There was no way we were going to put them up in those," Richt said.
Four Bulldogs players were arrested earlier this month, but Richt and the rest of the coaching staff/decision makers have yet to come up with a punishment or decide if there will be a punishment at all.
"I wouldn't put anything out of the realm of possibilities right now," he said.
Earlier in October, wide receiver Justin Scott-Wesley was arrested for possession of marijuana.
"We'll stay with our policies on that," Richt said.
Those 'policies' that they are choosing to stay with most likely mean a single-game suspension for Scott-Wesley or any other player that decides to do the same.
