After a five game skid, the Atlanta Hawks are back in the win column after a 103-95 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday. Although one of the wins they needed just came, they are still barely clinging to the final spot (#8 seed) in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
Three-point specialist Kyle Korver finally made a return back to the lineup after missing six games with back spasms. In his first game since the nagging injury, Korver scored 11 points.
"We all kind of looked at each other," said Korver, who returned to the lineup on Monday. "We all know what's on the line."
Paul Millsap was clearly the undisputed player of the game as he posted 28 points, 17 rebounds, four assists, three steals and was had 50 percent shooting beyond the arc.
Also with a good performance was sixth man Lou Williams who racked up 22 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds and 1 steal in the Hawks' win.
"That's what we've been expecting from him all season," teammate DeMarre Carroll said. "Coach did a good job of not playing Lou, to show him that he couldn't take his opportunities for granted. He's playing some better basketball now."
"That was the first time I had to deal with that in my career," Williams said on his benching. "We weren't in a good rhythm and Coach wanted to change things up, try something new. He told me to stay ready. That's what I did."
