It is a sad day for Falcons wide receiver Roddy White and his family as his brother, Tyrone Moore Jr., was shot to death Thursday outside of a James Island, South Carolina nightclub.
Coincidentally enough, it also happens to be on the same day as franchise quarterback Matt Ryan's birthday, May 17.
When White could not be reached for a comment, Falcons owner Arthur Blank released this statement on the death of White's brother:
"We were all saddened to learn about the death of Roddy's brother Tyrone. Roddy is part of our Falcons family, and families stand together in difficult circumstances. Roddy and his family can count on our support through this very trying time. On behalf of the entire Falcons organization, we extend our deepest sympathies and prayers to Roddy, his mother Joenethia, and their entire family."
Moore, who is only 21 years of age, is the pro bowl wide receivers' half-brother. While in Atlanta they lived with each other briefly. While at a nightclub, he got into an altercation, witnesses told police that several gunshots erupted and Moore was struck.
ABC News reported the following on the matter:
"That man, Moore, was taken to Medical University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, officials said. Deputies said they do not have a motive for the shooting at this time."
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office at 843-202-1700 or Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
